The Perfect Hotels

History

In 1921, Benjamin Waldegrave, the son of Sir Piers Waldegrave, was finishing his studies at London University. It was the beginning of the 1920s and films were flooding the West with stories of exotic, luxurious and adventurous journeys.
Seduced by these stories and with the excuse of discovering new business opportunities, Benjamin decided to visit Europe and America’s best cities.

Over the years that he travelled, he made notes about each of the places that he visited, describing every place, every hotel and every business in detail, along with restaurants, cafes, theatres and museums.

His simple notebooks became fantastic travel journals that held all the secrets and charm of each city. When he got back, the journals became travel guides for many of his friends.

Over the years, the notebooks were inherited by one of his nephews - a lover of travel, design and luxury. As a head of Banco de Inversiones, in May 2007 he happened to meet a group of tourism professionals and decided to renew the spirit contained in these notebooks… and so The Perfect Hotels was created
